Founder’s story

● Can use at least one hand and have mental capabilities to control a joystick and buttons

Aleksandr Malashchenko, started ReviMo after being a caregiver for his grandfather who was paralyzed by a stroke. Aleksandr realized how exhausting the transfer process is for both patients and caregivers, and how the lack of independence causes embarrassment for people with limited mobility.

That experience motivated Aleksandr to use his Ph.D. in Mechanical engineering and experience in leading R&D projects in the Aerospace industry to help people with limited mobility be more independent and reduce the burden on caregivers.

User Experience

“With ReviMo Niko, my quality of life and self-esteem improved instantly. Without this device, the strength and function of my extremities are significantly limited, requiring me to ask for assistance each time I need to use the
restroom or transfer to and from my power wheelchair. I was born with Arthrogryposis Multiplex Congenita. Using a wireless controller, I can easily bring the device to my location, lift my legs with minimal effort, and operate the secure lift functions with my dominant hand.”

It was very easy to transfer using Revimo  Niko. I expected it to be complicated and to need assistance using it (I have SMA and have never been able to self-transfer), but neither of these turned out to be true! I thought I’d need assistance to move myself a little so that the machine could go under me, however I simply pressed the button and moved a tiny bit (which, for me is saying something, as I have very limited mobility) and I was good to go!  Revimo Niko is also such an improvement compared to other transfer methods in the area of comfort.

Additionally, Revimo Niko is a pretty significant game-changer for my independence. I’ve never been able to transfer myself, so being able to operate this and do the transfer 100% independently is huge for me. I’ve never encountered any other device like this one. Genuinely, it is an amazing, creative, and, in my opinion, better way to transfer.”
