Bonjour! Welcome to my column on the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.
As people around the globe tune into the Olympic opening ceremony tonight, myself (Lauren) and the Ability Today team (très fantastique) are gearing up to deliver you all the best stories from the next instalment of Paris 2024: the Paralympic Games. From 28th August to 8th September, elite disabled athletes from across the world will showcase their skills on the global stage and battle for a spot on the podium. We can’t wait to bring you along for every exhilarating, astonishing, breath-taking moment of it.
I’ll be on the ground in Paris bringing you the latest results, athlete stories and behind-the-scenes insights. My wonderful journalist-in-arms Victoria will be reporting from London, and some of our peers may also pop up in the bylines. This column is going to be by disabled people, about disabled sport and for everyone.
The Paralympic Games only come around once every four years. You can help make this one special by following along with us and engaging with our stories and content both here and on social media. Sport has the power to bring people together, so make sure you’re part of it – Liberté, égalité, fraternité. Ready? Let the Games begin!
