At Legs4Africa, our decade-long journey has led us to a significant transformation. We’ve rebranded as ‘STAND’ with the tagline ‘We Walk Together’ to better reflect our commitment to partnership, empowerment, and holistic support. This evolution stems from our dedication to decolonising development work and fostering a more equitable relationship with the communities we serve.
For the past ten years, Legs4Africa has been a beacon in recycling prosthetic components and supporting rehabilitation centres across sub-Saharan Africa. Our work has always been about more than just providing prosthetic legs; it’s about supporting entire communities, enhancing accessibility, and offering comprehensive services for people with limb differences.

Why the Change to STAND?
The decision to rebrand was inspired by our commitment to inclusivity and collaboration. We realised that our former name, while well-recognised, might imply a one-sided relationship where Africa is merely a recipient of aid. This doesn’t align with our vision of a partnership that uplifts and empowers all involved.
Through extensive discussions with our team and stakeholders, we understood the importance of a name that reflects our broader mission. ‘STAND’ encapsulates our dedication to standing together with the communities we support, promoting dignity, agency, and holistic care.

Continuing Our Mission
Despite the change in name, our mission remains steadfast. We are leading the way in recycling prosthetic legs and providing holistic rehabilitation services. If you have any prosthetic legs that you no longer need, we encourage you to get in touch with us. Your contributions can make a significant difference.
