Noah Greaves, 33, is unable to walk, feed himself or even write unaided and only leaves the house for medical appointments, when he is escorted by his parents. He says he ‘doesn’t have a life’ and ‘sits in bed all day watching TV’ four years after being bitten by ticks while working outdoors in Scotland as an ecologist. NHS doctors have diagnosed him with Multiple Sclerosis (MS), a lifelong condition that affects the brain and nerves.
But Noah disagreed with their diagnosis and went to a private doctor who did a test that’s not offered by the NHS and this confirmed he has Lyme Disease. The disease is the result of the bite of an infected tick, and if left untreated, it can spread to joints, the heart and the nervous system.
