Visually impaired schoolgirl’s buddy dog just another member of family – Belfast Telegraph

Adorable Labrador-cross Vicki is “huge, hairy, playful, positive” and nothing short of Elodie Bateson’s best friend.
But there’s something extra special about she and her four-legged companion: Elodie was born with a severe visual impairment, and Vicki is a buddy dog.

Buddy dogs are provided to children experiencing sight loss by the national Guide Dogs charity.

Their main role is to help boost the confidence of youngsters, but they become much-loved family pets, even supporting parents and siblings too.
