Touching moment celebrities surprise ‘lonely’ man with Down’s Syndrome at his care home – Liverpool Echo

This is the touching moment a man with Down’s Syndrome was surprised by some of his favourite celebrities at his care home.

Mike McDonald, 40, usually lives in a care home part time in Fazakerley and comes home at the weekend.

But over the last six months due to the restrictions imposed by the coronavirus pandemic, Mike has been unable to see his family other than through a window.

In a bid to cheer him up, sister Rachael, 29, put a call out on social media asking if any local celebrities and soap stars could send a video message to Mike, who’s a huge soap fan.

Hundreds of people came together to share the post and passed on the message to people they knew.
