Sussex chronic fatigue patients ‘left home alone’ — The Argus

Colin Barton said current care for people with severe chronic fatigue syndrome is not enough

 
A MAN who suffers from chronic fatigue syndrome said people with severe cases are left to deal with it alone due to underfunding.

Colin Barton, chairman of Sussex ME Society, said home visits are needed for people bed-bound by the condition, as many currently rely on family and friends to carry out everyday tasks.

He said they are “chronically overlooked” by the NHS in Sussex, which provides “fantastic care for mild and moderate” cases at the Princess Royal Hospital in Haywards Heath, but “nothing at home”.
