Stigma, lack, other challenges worsen our predicament –Spinal cord injury survivors – Punch

Members of the Spinal Cord Injury Association of Nigeria, Ogun State chapter, last week gathered in Abeokuta, the state capital, in celebration of the spinal cord injury awareness month.

September is National SCI Awareness Month according to the National Spinal Cord Injury Statistical Center.

The event was used to examine ways to cushion the effects of the injury and stigmatisation.

One of the survivors who spoke with our correspondent, 34-year-old, Omolola George, said that she had been indoors for the past 16 years after the incident happened.
