A charity swim aimed at raising money to fund a cure for Motor Neurone Disease was today backed by sufferer Professor Stephen Hawking.
The London City Swim race will take place in Docklands next month where hundreds of swimmers will raise money to tackle the debilitating disease.
It is the first MND-focused open water swimming race to be held in the capital and is open to competitive swimmers over a 500-metre course. MND sufferers can also get into the water using flotation devices to have fun with their families.
It has won the backing of the Stephen Hawking Foundation, with Professor Hawking appealing to swimmers to get involved.
