South Shields woman has life transformed by ‘care assistant’ dog – Chronicle Live

A woman suffering from health conditions has had her life transformed after having her dog trained as a care assistant.

Kim Phillips, 55, lives in South Shields with her border terrier care-dog, Ruby.

She was diagnosed with myalgic encephalomyelitis and dystonia after being caught in a motorbike accident years ago.

With her restricted mobility, Kim was unable to even leave the house, and relied on support from her personal assistant, Sylvia.
