Rob Burrow: What is motor neurone disease and what are the symptoms? – The Independent

Leeds Rhinos ruby league great Rob Burrow has revealed he has been diagnosed with motor neurone disease.

In a statement released by the 37-year-old with regards to the health condition, he stated: “I would like to thank everyone for the support I have received already since being given my diagnosis.”

Affecting approximately two in every 100,000 people in the UK, the disease impacts the nerves in the brain and spinal cord, leading to gradual damage of the body’s nervous system.
