To mark Aphasia Awareness Month, the Stroke Association has today launched a new guide containing helpful information and step-by-step guidance on how to get online and search the internet for stroke survivors with communication difficulties.
Aphasia is a language and communication disorder, of which stroke is the most common cause. There are 1.2 million stroke survivors in the UK and, according to the Stroke Association, one third have aphasia. Aphasia can affect a person’s ability to speak, read, write and sometimes understand speech and use numbers.
