As an avid golfer with a busy career as an architect, when Fraser Holden developed a pain in his shoulder early last year, he first thought that he had sustained an injury on the golf course. But after trying to ignore it for a few months, when he mentioned to his wife that his foot ‘had dropped’ one day of its own accord, she encouraged him to seek medical advice.
His GP referred him to a consultant, who, having ordered a suite of tests which came back negative, suggested it was likely that he would need surgery, something he had already been through in the past to rectify a back issue.
