A blind actor and comedian from Bristol who has become something of a TikTok sensation has got his next big break at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Milo Mooney will take centre stage at this August’s Fringe in Scotland’s capital, in a one-hander dark comedy about a man who is slowly going blind.
The play has been nominated for a 2023 BBC Writers Room/Popcorn Writing award, and the show’s director and writer Mark Janicello said he didn’t even realise actor Milo Mooney was TikTok famous when he hired him to play the lead character Finley Whitmore.
The 25-year-old from Bristol has amassed a third of a million followers on the video sharing platform, and his light-hearted comedy and storytelling videos have been watched 14 million times.
