A Manchester woman has reached the final of an international photography competition for people who have Down’s syndrome.
Poppy Maguire has been shortlisted for the My Perspective competition, which is run by the Down’s Syndrome Association, alongside 29 other finalists. Submissions were received from as far as India, South Africa, and Canada.
The 27-year-old from Manchester captured the judges’ attention with her shot entitled “Spooky Photography”.
The My Perspective competition offers people with the genetic condition a chance to “turn the camera around” as they have historically been the subject of photos and exhibits. The competition allows people with Down’s syndrome the chance to show how they view the world.
