It was Taran Dunn’s first match at Manchester City. His family was met at reception, taken up in a lift and along some thick-piled carpeted corridors to a door that led to two rooms.

One was filled with soft lighting and tubes of illuminated bubbling water. The floor was like a rock pool, the water seemed to move when you stood on it but there was no splash.
