Life with autism in Lancashire – 2BR

He sees how it affects his son every day and now this Lancashire dad is speaking out.

We're hearing from Alan Enwistle during World Autism Awareness Week.

He's been telling us how their lives changed when his young boy Jack was diagnosed with the condition at 5-years-old.

Jack is now 12-years-old but struggles to cope when he's in crowded places or around kids his own age.

He's not alone as 700,000 people in the country are affect by autism.

The week-long campaign calls on more of us to understand what those who've been diagnosed have to go through and deal with.

The condition can leave people feeling isolated and misunderstood.

As Alan told us - it can be very difficult for children with autism to fit in with their friends.

It can affect people in different ways with the common traits including high-focused interests, being sensitive to loud or bright environments or showing repetitive behaviour.

But Jack has been telling us that it doesn't stop him living life to the full:
