The Scottish Government has committed to introducing a Learning Disability, Autism and Neurodiversity Bill. This Bill will ensure that the rights of autistic people, people with learning disabilities, and neurodivergent people are respected and protected. This Bill will also consider establishing a Commissioner to protect people’s rights in practice.
A Bill is a potential new law. This Bill will be prepared by the Scottish Government and then considered by the Scottish Parliament. When a Bill has been passed by the Scottish Parliament, it becomes a part of Scots law as an Act.
