The Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to improving quality of life for people living with paralysis, has an interactive forum that allows individuals with paralysis or their caretakers to ask paralysis-related questions they may have to a certified rehabilitation registered nurse. This nurse is Linda M. Schultz, Ph.D., CRRN, a leader and provider of rehabilitation nursing for over 30 years, and a friend of the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation for close to 20. Aside from simply answering questions, her role is to guide discussions in an educational manner, give functional advice that applies to real-world application, and provide a “how-to” on incorporating helpful improvements into daily life.
Nurse Linda is available every Wednesday from 8-9 PM ET in the Reeve Foundation online community to address issues and questions on living with paralysis. These webchats are live conversations where you have the opportunity to receive direct feedback through the Q&A chatbox. Additionally, if you miss a webchat, you have the ability to go to the Nurse Linda webchats page on the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation Youtube page to watch archived webchats. One the last Wednesday of each month from 3-4PM ET, Nurse Linda also provides a webinar on a paralysis-related topic. She takes call-in questions at that time.
