I looked at the number aghast. £13,295.
It was a huge amount – for some people, part of a house deposit, for others, the price of a shiny new car.
But for me, it was simply how much it cost me to be disabled last year. Or, I should say, how much it costs me to live in an inaccessible society, where I face barriers and biases every single day.
