How to support someone living with bipolar during lockdown – British GQ

Bipolar disorder – sometimes known as manic depression – is a mental health condition characterised by extreme mood swings, including manic highs and depressive lows. While everyone has variations in their mood, those living with bipolar disorder can experience severe shifts that can be very distressing and seriously impact their quality of life.

There are currently over 1.3 million people in the UK living with bipolar, however an estimated 60% do not receive any treatment for the condition. For people living with bipolar disorder, support from family and friends can therefore be invaluable.
