Fibromyalgia – The painful ‘invisible illness’ soaring in numbers in Devon – Devon Live

An ‘invisible illness’ which causes unexplained widespread pain and is life-changing has seen the numbers of sufferers soar in Devon.

Jok Saunders, a wife and mother-of-two, had to take early retirement in her late 50s as a nutritionist and therapist after being diagnosed with fibromyalgia syndrome.

Now in her early 60s, she became increasingly concerned about her health in 2014 when she started experiencing what felt like a heart attack when she was lifting and unpacking boxes into her new home.
