Tonight, EastEnders will offer its hearing viewers an important insight into what everyday life is like for deaf people, with a special point-of-view episode demonstrating Ben Mitchell’s hearing loss.

Using limited and muffled audio in scenes, accompanied by subtitles, the show’s executive producer, Jon Sen, has said that the episode ‘allows the audience the opportunity to experience the world through Ben’s eyes and ears’.
