Motorists could receive a fine of up to £1,000 for failing to inform the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) about certain medical conditions.

You are required to inform the DVLA if you have a medical condition which could affect the way you drive. If you don’t you could land the fine and also be prosecuted if you’re involved in an accident as a result.

In addition to this, motorists must surrender their licence if their doctor has told them to stop driving for three months or more. You must also give it up if you do not meet the required standards for driving because of your medical condition.
