Health experts and motor neurone disease (MND) patients are calling on the NSW government to classify the fatal condition as a notifiable disease, with experts warning cases could increase, with more data needed to determine its causes.
Healthcare practitioners are required to report notifiable diseases to the government, allowing diseases to be better monitored.
Ronald Hobden was diagnosed with MND in June this year and was only given six months to live. Now he and his wife Anna-Louise are calling for the disease to be put on a notifiable list to improve the chances of developing a cure.
