Autism in children could be prevented ‘if more women take multivitamins during pregnancy’ – The Sun

TAKING folic acid or multivitamins in or before pregnancy cuts kids’ autism risk by nearly three-quarters, scientists say.

A study of 45,300 youngsters found those whose mums took the supplements while expecting were 73 per cent less likely to develop autism.

Exposure up to two years before slashed the risk by 61 per cent.

It follows 2017 research which suggested the supplements have a protective ef­fect and “important public health implications”.
